Challenges for Occupational Health and Safety Enforcement in the Construction Industry in Ghana

Many previous studies have reported that the occupational health and safety (OHS) enforcement is poor in developing countries, however these mainly focused on broader problems not fully considered challenges confronting institutions responsible for enforcing OHS standards at workplaces. In this study, twelve potential were identified from an extensive literature review, then empirical investigation was carried out via a questionnaire survey inspectors professionals Ghanaian construction industry. The confirmed ranked. Also, analysis of variance (ANOVA) correlation used to determine statistical significance responses relationships between challenges. Based findings, study provides practical strategies government, other within industry improve enforcement. research findings can also be adopted as basis assess countries.
